Will The Polestar 0 Project Fulfill Its Quest For A Climate Neutral Car?

The up and coming EV maker could set the industry on its ear if they were to win the race to produce the first emissions-free vehicle

Even as electric vehicle makers are clamoring to launch new EVs to help them become a recognizable force in the rapidly growing market, they are simultaneously working with an eye to the more distant future. Swedish manufacturer Polestar is still in the midst of going public as a company via SPAC merger with Gores Guggenheim, Inc. (GGPI) and ramping up global production but they are also aggressively planning a climate neutral vehicle they hope to release by 2030.

Polestar’s Polestar 2, which is currently available for drivers, is their first all-electric vehicle. The company has proven to be popular out of the gate, reporting more than $640 billion in 2020, when they were still just getting off the ground with a hybrid model. Not content to rest on their laurels, even as they were still readying their Polestar 2 they were announcing grand plans for a climate neutral car; a project they are calling Polestar 0.
