Collecting things has been a pastime for many years in society, and has taken many forms. For every coin and stamp collection there is somebody who enjoys accumulating items most would never consider to be of interest. One of the more unusual examples of collecting going well outside the boundaries of the norm was famed writer Lord Byron, who maintained a curated assemblage of pubic hair.
George Gordon Byron, the 6th Baron Byron of England, was better known as Lord Byron. Born in 1788, he became one of the most prominent poets of the Romantic movement, with his most famous works including Don Juan and Irish Avatar. Considered very flamboyant, he lived all over Europe during his short life, and was regularly involved in scandal. Highly sexualized, he had a litany of relationships and affairs, including allegedly even with family members. He died in 1824 at the age of 36 as the result of a severe fever and failed blood letting.
