The Bald, Blind And Deaf Man Struck And Cured By Lightning While Searching For His Chicken
In 1980, a Maine man experienced a medical miracle where something that should have killed him actually cured him of multiple afflictions
As we humans get older, it becomes increasingly difficult to stay ahead of the various maladies that comes with advancing age. That was especially true of Edwin E. Robinson, a 62-year-old man who in 1980 suffered not only from baldness, but also blindness and deafness that had come on a decade earlier after he was involved in a severe accident. However, in a logic -defying occurrence, he found himself cured of his afflictions after being struck by lightning while trying to find his pet chicken during a storm.
Robinson was a former truck driver from Falmouth, Maine. As a younger man, he worked as a truck driver until he suffered a substantial brain injury in 1971 when his rig jackknifed on an icy bridge during the throes of winter. Subsequently, he lost his vision and his hearing. To compensate, he was forced to learn Braille, and was fitted with a hearing aid to assist with giving him as much function as possible.
