An unusual situation is playing out in some expensive California homes
Hollywood, California isn’t just known for its movie industry. The abundance of opulent real estate is also very much a part of its reputation. However, not every mansion is being used as an occupied home and as a result, a group of particularly vicious squatters have begun taking over and doing their utmost to destroy two such properties.
Just recently, two properties in the Hollywood Hills, both owned by John Powers Middleton, the son of Major League Baseball’s Philadelphia Phillies owner John S. Middleton, have become news stories of increasing interest because of what is being done to them by bands of squatters and graffiti taggers.
The first mansion, located on Mulholland Drive close to the Universal City Overlook, has been vacant for years, resulting in it becoming a major thorn in the side of locals. Neighbors have reported ongoing issues with squatters, with police providing only temporary relief, as Middleton has allegedly not filed any formal complaints despite still owning the property.
