Tesla Adds Additional EV Manufacturers Who Will Use Their Chargers
Electric car makers are finding Tesla Godfather offer to share their charging network too good to pass up
In what can only be termed a master stroke, Tesla made their charging stations available to some of their biggest electric vehicle manufacturer competitors. Essentially grabbing a dominant share of the charging market, the company has continued to surge forward with news indicating that even more brands plan to jump on board and use their technology.
Earlier this year, legacy auto manufacturers Ford and GM announced that they would start integrating the chargers of Tesla into their future EV models. Called the North American Charging Standard, it is currently considered a superior form of charging compared with other alternatives in the United States. Working to codify their design as a “public standard,” Tesla was planning to make their specs available for download to help perpetuate the growth of the network, especially when it comes to the bringing of their rival manufacturers on board.
