Survey Shows Majority Of Crypto Investors Don’t Really Know How It Works

With a current market cap of nearly $2.7 trillion, cryptocurrency is well beyond being a phase or a fad. It holds an increasingly large space in investing, including in the United States. This is despite the fact that a recent survey showed that the majority of American crypto investors don’t even know how it works.

Seeking to explore what exactly crypto investors know, Preply conducted a survey of more than 1,000 Americans. As reported originally by Rachel Kirsch, their findings were interesting to say the least.

Most striking was that 60% of those polled who own and trade crypto didn’t know what a blockchain is, while 35% expressed not feeling confidence in their knowledge of crypto. Perhaps most surprisingly, 40% of Generation Z crypto traders confessed that they felt they held inadequate education as it relates to crypto.

Simultaneously, the data showed that even with a mixed bag of comprehension, interest remains high in crypto. Some 53% of those polled who don’t currently invest in crypto expressed their interest in learning more about it. Of that group, those who can be placed in…
