Investor and businessman Kevin O’Leary has made a lucrative career of doing careful research and making educated picks on where to invest his money. A converted adherent of cryptocurrency, he is a believer in Ethereum (ETH), but also doesn’t think that the smart contract platform is infallible. Accordingly, he recently identified three altcoins that he thinks could provide the most competition to the crypto behemoth.
The Canadian O’Leary was a co-founder of computer software manufacturer Softkey Software Products, which focused on family education and entertainment. Sold to Mattel in 1999, the proceeds he reaped from the transaction made him a millionaire many times over, and he has since transitioned to a new career in investing, writing and television — including serving as a lead investor on the start-up show Shark Tank. There are estimates that he may be worth in excess of $400 million.
