Rivian Truck Shows Charging Versatility By Being Used As Power Source For Texas Vasectomy
A doctor used his electric pickup truck to provide power for a recent medical procedure
Electric pickup truck manufacturer Rivian (RIVN) has received significant praise for their vehicles providing cutting edge performance and amenities. In addition to transportation and hauling, a new unique use was just revealed, as a Texas doctor did the most Texas thing ever by using his Rivian R1T pickup to power a vasectomy.
Founded in 2009, Rivian is based out of California, developing electric vehicles on their proprietary “skateboard” platform, which supports their own future vehicle designs and can also be utilized by other manufacturers willing to pay for the technology. The company has already begun deliveries on their R1T electric pickups and R1S electric sport utility vehicle. An electric delivery van in their pipeline, with an expected roll out of 2023.
Thus far, their R1T pickup has been the company’s crown jewel. The all-wheel drive truck with eight driving modes is capable of going from 0–60 in three seconds and features up to 11,000 pounds of towing capacity.
