Polestar Precept Head of Design Explains Blueprint for Hopeful EV Glory
The rapidly growing electric vehicle manufacturer is relying on a unique combination of technology and restraint to produce quality cars
The Polestar Precept is expected to be released by Swedish EV manufacturer Polestar in 2024. This high-performance sedan will be known as the Polestar 5 and is hoped to be a rival for luxury electric vehicles like Lucid Motors, Tesla and Mercedes EQS. The model, which Car and Driver has termed “a stunning concept,” could make or break Polestar as a power player in the industry for years to come. In a recent interview, their Head of Design explained how he and his team were able to come up with such an anticipated car.
The Precept will be a four-door touring grand touring car that features lidar and a stable of bells and whistles in the interior and under the hood. The company has released teaser videos that show what customers may expect a few years from now:
Recently, Muse.World published an interview they conducted with Maximilian Missoni, the Head of Design for Polestar, who has been working tirelessly on developing and refining the Precept for its launch two years from now. Born in Austria, he studied vehicle design at the Royal College of Art in London, and after working for Volvo, he transitioned in 2018 to their subsidiary Polestar and has been in his current position ever since.
In Missoni’s opinion, something that sets Polestar apart from other EV companies is their devotion to sustainability:
“For me, accelerating the industry’s transformation to a more sustainable future is a priority, and I believe that you have to do it from the inside out. That’s one of the most exciting aspects of me joining Polestar. As a new brand, Polestar offers a great opportunity to break new ground, not only in design but also in the materials used and the production possibilities.”
