Typically, grandmothers are the embodiment of warmth and comfort. Especially when it relates to their grandchildren, they seemingly live to spoil and provide. However, not every little old lady is a sweet matriarch. Among the worst of these false grannies was Nannie Doss, better known as the Giggling Granny, after it was discovered that the affable woman had murdered 11 people — including husbands, her own children and other family members over the course of years.
Nannie was a deceptively charming southern woman who it turned out was equally adept at baking pies as she was cooly dispatching those close to her that got on her bad side. She left a legacy as one the most prolific serial killers in American history, responsible for the deaths of at least 11 family members and possibly even more throughout a twisted and lengthy killing spree that lasted from the 1920s to her ultimate arrest in 1954.
