How Actor Jack Black’s Mom Helped Save The Apollo 13 Astronauts And Birthed Him All In Same Day
One of Hollywood’s best known figures has a truly impressive mother
Jack Black is one of the most talented entertainers in the world. In addition to his acting, which typically focuses on the comedic, he is also a skilled musician. A person of such diverse abilities often has accomplished parents, and that is certainly true in his case. His mother, Judith Love Cohen, was an aerospace engineer who on the most trying day of her career, helped create something that ultimately save the imperiled Apollo 13 astronauts from certain death, and also gave birth to her soon to be famous son.
Black was born in Santa Monica on August 28, 1969. He began acting when just a teenager and eventually developed his current distinguished career, starring in such films as High Fidelity, School of Rock and King Kong. He has always been musically inclined and has simultaneously been the lead singer and guitarist for comedic hard rock band Tenacious D since 1994. He remains a very popular figure in Hollywood, who is in constant demand for new roles. However, his remarkable career all started on a day when hos mother had quite the day with her job.
