Actor Kit Harington is best known around the world for his portrayal of Jon Snow in the former hit HBO fantasy show Game of Thrones. However, acting isn’t the only thing that gives the native of England notoriety. He is also a direct descendent of the man who invented the flushing toilet — John Harington.
The 35-year-old Kit Harington is a veteran actor of both the screen and stage. His best known role was the nine-year run he had as the heroic Jon Snow on Game of Thrones. His character stood out for his goodness, if not sometimes naivety, in a world of evil and violence that is hyper focused on who is sitting on the throne.
As it turns out, Harington’s ancestor John Harington, who was his great grandfather many generations previous, was also involved with thrones, albeit those of a different nature.
