EV Maker Polestar’s New E-Motors Plans Could Be a Game Changer For Company

The new tech the electric vehicle manufacturer is hoping to roll out within the next couple of years should give them a great deal of cred in a competitive market

As Swedish-Chinese EV maker Polestar awaits the finalization of a merger via SPAC with Gores Guggenheim, Inc. (GGPI) the electric vehicle space continues to buzz about them as numerous companies in the space are working furiously to stand out in some way. Polestar has already been producing well received quality vehicles since 2017, but recent news suggests that they are seeking to put a unique stamp on themselves by developing high-end proprietary electric motors.

With plans to grow like a weed (they hope to sell 29,000 vehicles in 2021 and project 290,000 vehicles sold in 2025), Polestar is showing they are not content with simply being a vehicle assembly line. They want something that screams to drivers they are driving a Polestar and that is a different experience than they can get from any other EV. As such it has been announced, as reported by Joel Felder of Green Car Reports, that the company will be developing their own in-house electric motors (e-motors) in Sweden.
