If you’re unhappy with your job, the best advice is to find a new position if at all possible. Unfortunately, not everyone actively seeks such change, which can sometimes lead to unnecessary stress and reactions. Among the worst instances of this occurred in the 1930s when a disgruntled farmhand killed four people, including a baby, because he was upset about the amount of work he had piled on him.

There was widespread shock in Kenosha, Wisconsin and beyond in 1931 after the horrible actions of a 40-year-old laborer named Frank Gray (also spelled Grey) were uncovered. He worked as a hand for local farm owner Frank Boschert (aged 64) but became disillusioned when he believed he was being made to do more than his fair share of work.

Gray steamed and then finally broke. He shot and killed Herbert Boschert, the 30-year-old son of the farmer (who also ran this farm while his father lived elsewhere), and 18-year-old Celia Kerkman, who worked at the property.
