Design Concepts Show Disney’s Progress With Planned Residential Communities

The entertainment and media giant is making a big leap into the curated housing market

Earlier in 2022, Disney announced their intentions to develop planned residential communities. Now, recently released design concepts show that their ambitious project is headed in the right direction and bringing potential residents closer to being able to live the Disney experience year-round.

Disney made an announcement on their website on February 16th of their intention to develop master-planned residential communities. Dubbed Storyliving by Disney, the first community is earmarked for a large parcel named Cotino in Rancho Mirage, California — located in the Coachella Valley where Walt Disney and his wife once owned a home. The entertainment giant also indicated other U.S. locations are being considered as the sites for future additional communities.

Storyliving will operate under a community association model, and Disney employees who have trained through their renowned guests service institute, will provide the operational support.
