Can Tesla Get Into The World Of Residential HVAC?
The tech giant has stated their desire to work on developing world-class heating and air systems for homes
Tesla is best known as an electric car manufacturer, but they have their hands in a number of other ventures as well. From solar panels for homes to making vodka, they are much more about technology than they are buttonholing themselves into one sector. As proof, CEO Elon Musk recently confirmed that his company is seeking to develop their own smart efficient home HVAC systems.
Fred Lambert of Electrek recently reported that Musk publicly confirmed that Tesla, which had made such claims in the past, was still very much looking to add proprietary home HVAC units to their list of products.
An impetus for this has been the special attention they have paid to innovating air quality of the interior of their vehicles. This has included the implementation of large HEPA filters that they dubbed “Bioweapon Defense Mode,” into the HVAC of their more expensive cars, which has the ability to remove 99.7% of any dust, bacteria, mold or other particles larger than 0.3 microns.
